The Big Move #2

Good afternoon from Yokohama!

It’s looking like another fine day weather wise and I’ve had quite a productive morning. I’ll need to get ready for work soon, but I just thought I’d post a quick update on the whole ‘house moving’ thing.

There has been some positive progress since the last post – I think I’ve found someone to help us move stuff! The only problem is that we have completely different days off… so we’re going to have to do some more thinking about ‘when’ this will all happen.

As it’s my day off tomorrow, I’m hoping to make a start on packing things that are not currently in use. Thankfully, we don’t have any big furniture to transport – only items like books, clothes, shoes etc. Relief.

The Big Move #1

Soon, we’ll be moving house and I’m pretty darn excited about it. Since moving to Japan, I’ve only ever experienced living in shared housing, mostly due to it being cheaper and (for the most part) easier to move in and out of.

I’ve already moved a total of two times in the space of just over a year, so I’ve already had plenty of practice when it comes to moving my things around. Still, this time it’ll be quite a journey. The new place we’ve found is in Tokyo and Shun and I are currently in Yokohama. The overall journey by car is over an hour and by train, it’s closer to two.

So we’ve got some thinking to do.

That being said, I’m really happy about where we’ll be moving. It’s a lively neighborhood that’s got tonnes of character and plenty to see and do. There’s also a large park nearby, where I can practice going for walks with my future dogs (let me dream).

Overall, it’s a pretty cool place! That’s what I’ll keep telling myself during the next few weeks of logistics hell… wish us luck!
